The Brazilian aviation sector represented 1% of the country's GDP, or US$ 18.8 billion, according to a study carried out in 2017 by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Despite the strong impact caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the segment is already recovering and has the potential to grow further over the coming decades. According to the same study, the aviation sector in other countries represents, on average, 3.3% of the national GDP.
