Revitalization of the Naval Industry in Brazil

The recovery of the shipbuilding industry in the country will face some challenges. In an interview with the newspaper O Globo, Marcus D´Elia, partner at LEGGIO Consultoria, mentioned the increase in the percentage of local content and the competitiveness of shipyards among them.
For the specialist, the current 25% of local content is a picture of the market and what the sector is capable of delivering today: if it is decided to increase the index, it is important that it be gradual.
D´Elia also highlighted the need to generate competition between shipyards, in order to have costs comparable to other countries, directing demand towards the most efficient ones.
