Wind power is already part of Brazil's electricity mix, accounting for 13.6% of the total in 2025, according to ABEEólica (the Brazilian Wind Energy Association), with significant potential for further expansion. However, there are important operational challenges in both onshore and offshore projects.
Building wind farms requires specialized transportation, since turbines and blades are special cargo that may even require resizing port terminals to serve the segment. In addition, equipment assembly takes place in hard-to-access locations, which also demands specialized equipment. Leggio works on operational and logistics planning, as well as structuring transportation costs for assembly operations.
Decarbonization, in turn, involves offsetting, reducing, or even eliminating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Beyond regulations that incentivize this process, such as the Brazilian federal government's CBIO program, companies' ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) policies place CO2 emissions reduction as a priority.
Leggio calculates the costs of GHG offsetting and conducts studies to minimize these costs through its mathematical models. It also evaluates offsetting mechanisms, such as purchasing carbon credits or creating a proprietary reforestation project, among others.
